We are a private agency, not the UK Government. This is not a UK Government website. We are an independent agency charging a service fee in addition to the official Home Office fee. You can apply directly at gov.uk/eta.

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-08-28

These terms govern the service you buy from us. Read them before you pay — particularly the sections on what we do not control and on cancellation.

1. Who we are

UK ETA Gateway is a private, independent service operated by AvalVisa Immigration Services Inc.. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the UK Home Office, UK Visas and Immigration, or any UK Government department. You may apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation yourself, directly through the official GOV.UK service or the official UK ETA app, for the Home Office fee of £20 alone. Our fee of £29 is charged for the optional checking, translation and support service described in our Terms of Service, and is in addition to the official fee, which we pay to the Home Office on your behalf.

2. What we agree to do

We will review the information you give us, complete the official Electronic Travel Authorisation application on your behalf, pay the Home Office fee from the sum you pay us, submit the application, monitor it, and pass on the outcome. Standard applications are submitted within one working day of receiving complete information; priority applications on the same working day.

3. What we cannot do

We do not decide your application and we have no influence over the decision. The Home Office does. Nobody — no agency, at any price — can guarantee that an ETA will be granted, guarantee a decision within a stated time, or expedite the Home Office's assessment. Any part of our service described as priority relates to how quickly we act, not to how quickly the Home Office does.

4. What you agree to do

You must give us information that is accurate, complete and truthful, and you must tell us promptly if anything changes before we file. You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us — we check it for internal consistency and against your passport details, but we cannot verify facts about your personal history.

  • Deliberately withholding a conviction, refusal or overstay is grounds for refusal by the Home Office and voids our service guarantee.
  • You must travel on the passport your ETA is linked to.
  • You must not use our service to make an application for a person who has not authorised you to do so.

5. Fees

You pay two separate amounts in one transaction. The Home Office fee of £20 per traveller is not ours — we collect it and pay it to the Home Office on your behalf, and we do not add any margin to it. Our service fee of £29 per traveller (or £59 for priority) is what we charge for the work described in section 2. Both amounts are shown separately before you pay.

If the Home Office changes its fee, we will charge the new official amount and will tell you before taking payment.

6. Cancellation and refunds

Your statutory right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days applies, but by ticking the acknowledgement at checkout you ask us to begin work immediately and accept that the right is lost once the service has been fully performed — that is, once your application has been submitted to the Home Office. Before submission you may cancel for a full refund of everything, including the official fee. Our Refund Policy sets out what happens after submission, including where an application is refused.

7. Our liability

Where we cause you loss through our own error, our liability is limited to the service fee you paid us, plus the cost of filing a corrected application. We are not liable for the Home Office fee on a refused application, for travel or accommodation you booked before an ETA was granted, or for a refusal caused by information you gave us that was inaccurate or incomplete. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer rules in your own country of residence.
